Troubleshooting sync and reconnecting

What to do when Reports says Sync Failed, when Uptides asks you to reconnect YouTube, or when your channel is missing.

Updated September 16, 2026

Sync Failed

Reports shows Synced, Syncing…, or Sync Failed next to a Sync Now button. If a sync fails, press Sync Now once. If it fails again, Uptides has most likely lost access to your YouTube account: reconnect as below.

Reconnect YouTube

Uptides asks you to reconnect in a few places, with a Reconnect YouTube button:

  • on the trial dialog: "We need access to your YouTube account to calculate your plan."
  • during disconnection: "We need you to reconnect your YouTube account so we can finish restoring your original titles and thumbnails before removing your data."
  • when analytics access is missing: reconnect and grant analytics access on Google's screen.

Reconnecting always shows Google's account chooser. Pick the same identity you connected with originally (the Brand Account itself, or the channel owner's account). Choosing a different one connects a different channel.

Your channel is not listed

On Google's account screen, the channel you expect may be missing. You might be signed in with the wrong Google account; a Brand Account needs the Manager role or above and you must pick the channel itself, not your personal email; a personal channel can only be connected by its owner. Full detail in Brand Accounts and which Google account to use.

Candidates are not appearing

"Generating new candidates… this usually takes a few minutes" is normal after a connect or a re-analysis. If your videos are very new, your Channel Brief explains that Uptides waits for a video's early surge to settle before proposing changes. "All eligible videos have been optimized. Check back tomorrow" means there is nothing to do right now.
