5.1 YouTube Data Refresh
In compliance with YouTube API Services requirements, we refresh your YouTube channel data on a daily basis. This includes:
- Video metadata: Titles, descriptions, thumbnails, and privacy status are synchronized daily from YouTube.
- Channel information: Subscriber counts, channel titles, and profile images are updated daily.
- Analytics metrics: Views, watch time, click-through rates, and revenue data are fetched daily from the YouTube Analytics API.
Historical analytics are retained to provide you with long-term performance insights and trend analysis. This data is refreshed daily to ensure accuracy and compliance with YouTube's data policies.
5.2 Account Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time through the "Delete Account" option in your account menu. Upon requesting deletion, your account enters a 7-day grace period during which you may cancel the request. After 7 days, all your data is permanently deleted, including:
- Account information and login credentials
- YouTube channel data, analytics, and optimization history
- Generated thumbnails and stored images
- YouTube API access tokens (programmatically revoked)
5.3 Channel Disconnection
If you disconnect a YouTube channel from Uptides (without deleting your account), we revoke your OAuth access token and remove your association with that channel. If you are the sole owner of a channel, all data associated with that channel is deleted. You can also revoke access at any time via the Google security settings page.
5.4 Anonymized Data
YouTube API data is regularly refreshed to ensure accuracy. Cached API data is automatically refreshed within 30 days in accordance with the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
If you revoke our access to your YouTube data (via your account settings or Google security settings), we will delete all YouTube API data associated with your account within 30 days of detecting the revocation.
Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be linked to any individual user or YouTube channel may be retained indefinitely to improve our algorithms.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
- Secure cloud infrastructure with access controls
- Regular security assessments and monitoring
- Employee access limited to those who require it for their work
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

8. YouTube API Services
Our Service uses YouTube API Services. By using our Service, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Our YouTube API compliance practices include:
- Daily data refresh: All YouTube metadata is synchronized at least once every 24 hours to ensure data accuracy.
- Data isolation: YouTube metrics are displayed separately and are never combined with data from other platforms.
- User-controlled actions: All optimizations (title changes, thumbnail updates) require explicit user consent. Users choose whether to review each change or enable automatic application on a per-video basis.
- Token revocation: When you disconnect or delete your account, we programmatically revoke your OAuth tokens.
- Derived metrics: Baseline, lift, and revenue-share calculations are Uptides-generated estimates modeled from your historical YouTube data. They are not metrics provided by YouTube.
You can revoke our access to your YouTube data at any time via the Google security settings page.
9. AI Transparency
Uptides uses Google's Gemini AI models to generate title and thumbnail recommendations, analyze audience patterns, and produce performance insights. Your channel data (see Section 2.2) is processed by these models to deliver personalized suggestions. Under our enterprise agreement with Google, customer data is not used to train third-party models. Users retain full visibility into and control over all AI-powered features through their account settings.
