Auto mode

Auto mode means Uptides optimizes a video's title for you, applying high-confidence updates over time and reverting changes that underperform. Without it, every change waits for your approval.

Two switches

1. Channel level. In Settings → General, the Automation card has Auto-optimize titles. Turning this on makes the auto option available for individual videos. You still opt in to auto mode for each video.
2. Per video. Each video shows an Auto toggle. It reads "Auto = Uptides optimizes this title for you. Turn off to keep it manual." When channel-level auto is off, the badge is read-only and reads "Manual."

You can also turn on Auto Mode for a video from the Apply to YouTube dialog: "Uptides keeps optimizing this video's title over time and reverts changes that underperform. Toggle off to keep this video manual."

When you have approved a long run of suggestions without rejecting or reverting any, the Review page shows a quiet note suggesting you turn on auto mode, with a link to Settings. It disappears once auto mode is on, or you can dismiss it.

What auto mode does not do

• It never touches a video you have not opted in.
• It does not apply thumbnails. Thumbnails are always manual.
• It does not override your reverts. You can revert any title at any time.

Turning it off

Flip the per-video toggle back to Manual, or turn off Auto-optimize titles in Settings to make every video manual at once. Titles already on YouTube stay as they are until you change or revert them.

The auto-mode reminder email

If you optimize titles manually and have not applied one in a while, Uptides may email you once in a while with the subject "You're optimizing the hard way — here's the easy one" (or, when your manual edits are measurably working, "Your title edits are working — here's the easy way to do more"). It points to the channel's auto mode setting. You can turn this email off from the unsubscribe link at its footer.
