After you connect

The calibration form, the channel study, your Channel Brief, and when your first candidates appear.

Updated September 16, 2026

Here is the sequence once your channel is connected.

1. Pick three exemplar videos

The first screen asks you to choose up to three videos that best exemplify your channel stylistically. Uptides uses them to learn your voice before it writes anything. You can update this selection anytime from Settings → Brand — see Brand settings.

2. Uptides studies your archive

The study screen shows the actual work in progress, in four stages: analyzing video and performance data, generating initial brand guidelines, identifying your best and worst performers, and generating new titles. Each stage finishes on its own. It takes a few minutes and it is safe to close the tab. You get an email when it is done.

If it is taking longer than expected, the dashboard says so and your Brief shows up the moment it is ready. You do not need to wait on the page.

3. Meet your Channel Brief

The Brief is a short read on what stands out about your channel and what Uptides will watch. If your videos are still young, the Brief tells you that Uptides works best once a video's early surge settles, and that candidates will surface as your catalog matures.

4. Your first title candidates

Your first candidates appear in the Needs your attention section on your dashboard, one recommended title per video with alternatives a click away. Approving records your go-ahead; nothing touches YouTube until you apply. See Reviewing and applying candidates.

What makes Uptides most effective

Uptides is most effective when your archive has about 50 or more videos, mostly long-form rather than Shorts, with around six months of upload history. That gives enough baseline to measure real lift. Smaller or Shorts-heavy archives still work; traction just takes longer to show.

Payment and trial

No card is needed to see your Brief and first candidates. Your plan is matched to your channel's views, and you see your band and price before any card is required. A card only comes into play when you apply your first optimization, and that starts your 30-day free trial. See Pricing, trial, and billing.
